Once again, the Ad Astra Summit 2026 provided visionary space startups with an outstanding platform to present their innovations in Earth and space observation.

A particular focus was placed on satellite-based Earth observation—a field that impressively demonstrates the immense potential of modern space technologies. Whether in agriculture, security, infrastructure, or environmental protection: the applications made possible by ESA satellites are as diverse as they are pioneering.

With the increasing use of Earth’s orbit, topics such as Space Situational Awareness (SSA) and Collision Avoidance are becoming more critical. It was all the more encouraging to see that many startups have firmly anchored a clear awareness of the responsible and sustainable use of space within their visions.
